Nigerian rapper and activist Falz (Folarin Falana) has openly criticized the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that the country has regressed rather than progressed since he assumed office in May 2023.

In a recent interview, Falz expressed deep concern over the state of the nation, citing worsening economic conditions, increased hardship, and a general lack of accountability as signs that Nigeria is “moving backwards” under the current leadership. He pointed to the soaring cost of living, rising insecurity, and a struggling economy as evidence of the government’s failure to meet the expectations of the people.

Falz, known for using his platform to speak out on social and political issues, particularly emphasized the disconnect between the ruling class and the average Nigerian. According to him, citizens are feeling more disillusioned and frustrated than ever, as promises of reform and progress have not translated into tangible improvements in their daily lives.

This is not the first time Falz has criticized government leadership. He has been a vocal advocate for good governance, transparency, and youth empowerment, especially during and after the #EndSARS movement.

His latest comments reflect growing public dissatisfaction among young Nigerians and creatives who continue to call for accountability, inclusive governance, and meaningful change in the face of persistent national challenges.
