Justice Kudrat Akano of Osun High Court on Tuesday in Osogbo, Osun State, Nigeria sentenced an octogenarian, Oluwafemi Fagbemi, and three others to death by hanging for murder. Reported by Punchng
Other convicts sentenced were Tobi Ojo, Famutuwa Femi and Tope Olatunji.
The prosecutor and state counsel in the Ministry of Justice, Mr. Abiodun Badiora, had told the court that the convicts on April 13, 2012, murdered one Jacob Ajayi for money rituals in Ilesa town.
Badiora said the headless body of the casualty was later recouped from a septic tank with his private parts and different parts of his body missing.
The prosecutor said the offense was as opposed to segments 324 and 319 of the Criminal Code Cap. 34 Vol.II, Laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2002.
The convicts were summoned on a two-check of conspiracy and murder.
The counsel to the convicts, A.O Oluwole, be that as it may, begged the judge to temper justice with mercy in her judgment.
Conveying judgment, Akano said the prosecutor had demonstrated his case past any sensible uncertainty.
Akano said the convicts were guilty of the two-check of scheme and murder favored against them.
The judge thusly sentenced the convicts to 14 years jail term after pleading guilty to conspiracy and death by hanging for murder.
