NOW: Onnoghen Sworn in By the Acting President Yemi Osinbajo as the 17th CJN.

Justice Walter Onnoghen on Tuesday, March 7, was inaugurated as the 17th Chief Justice of Nigeria by acting president Yemi Osinbajo.
The swearing-in ceremony took place in the council chambers of Aso Rock presidential villa, FCT, Abuja, the inauguration  witnessed the presence of The Senate president, Bukola Saraki; Ex- Chief Justice Of Nigeria members Executive Council; Justices of the Supreme Court and family members.
Professor Yemi decorated  Onnoghen with second highest command in Nigeria, As he also seek the corporation of Nigerians to adhere strictly to law.
Already Presidency had sent his Appointment to the Upper chamber and has been confirmed in February. Justice Walter Suceeds Mahmud Mohammed who retired when he became 70, it was a compulsory retirement for the Former CJN because of his age.
Meanwhile, Onnoghen was born in 1950 at Okurike, Biase Local Government Area of Cross Rivers State, and was appointed to the Supreme Court bench in 2005 (12 years ago). He has just 3years more to be the CJN.
