The Chinese backed startup OPay is continuing its move to become a super app with the launch of OCar, its ride-hailing service in Lagos, Owerri, Port Harcourt, Abuja and Benin.
This announcement was made on OPay’s Social media platform on Tuesday 19th, 2019.
OCar is the company’s latest vertical in an ecosystem that already includes offerings for food (OFood), bike-hailing (ORide), classifieds (OList), three-wheelers (OTrike) and bus-hailing (OBus).
Despite the fact that this startup has been running at a loss it never stops on it freebies and discount rides. Serving as treat to other startups such as Gokada, Max.ng etc… Now the shift is to the Crowded Cab space already dominated by Bolt and Uber. It’s quite overwhelming to know a company’s priority is more on Expansion rather than profitability.
Oride has so far been expanding, same as other investment such as Ofood, Otrike etc… We hope to see Ocar fly in the midst of the giants Bolts and Uber. Every ride is said to be N200
