Achibong Koko, a 35-year-old man has been arrested by Lagos State police for allegedly defiling of a toddler.
The incident which happened on Sunday the 24th of June at Dansa, Abule Oshun, Ojo, Lagos .
The suspect, a neighbour of the victim’s mother, had taken advantage of the child while the woman was asleep. When the woman woke up, she was said to have noticed that the child was not walking properly.
She questioned the child and the victim told her mother what transpired. According to Police Commissioner Imohimi Edgal, the victim was rushed to a hospital, adding that doctor confirmed she was defiled and her hymen had been broken.
The victim’s mom said,
“I never knew she was no longer beside me. My aunt, who observed the way my daughter was walking, woke me up. When I saw her as well, I was forced to check her.
I pulled down her pants and saw sperms on her body. I asked her who did it and she pointed to a particular room. When we got there, we didn’t meet anyone. I went to report to the leader of my area, Alhaji Bello.
But unknown to us, the suspect was in his friend’s room. Both of them were called out, and they asked my daughter who violated her. She pointed at him.” –
