Carabao Cup Semi-Final Draw: Man City to Face Newcastle, Chelsea Await Opponents
The English Football League (EFL) has confirmed the fixtures for the Carabao Cup semi-finals, with Manchester City set to clash against defending champions Newcastle United.
Chelsea, meanwhile, will face the winners of the quarter-final tie between Arsenal and Crystal Palace, which is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, December 23.
The draw was announced late Wednesday night on the EFL’s official website following Manchester City’s 2–0 victory over Brentford and Newcastle’s dramatic stoppage-time win against Fulham, which secured their places in the last four of the competition.
Chelsea had earlier booked their semi-final spot on Tuesday after edging Cardiff City 3–1 away from home, with key contributions sealing the win against Frank Lampard’s side.
According to the EFL, the first legs of the semi-final ties will be played in the week commencing January 12, 2026, while the second legs are scheduled for the week beginning February 2, 2026.
