Sevilla was brought to a standstill for the wedding. There was security all over the city in order to keep out those who weren’t invited. Like a scene from a Game of Thrones, the streets were filled with people desperate to be close to the rich and famous.
Surprising absentees
On the list of famous people who didn’t attend was Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese striker and his girlfriend Georgina weren’t invited. Ramos’ coach at Real Madrid, Zinedine Zidane, was in Bilbao with his wife rather than in Sevilla. Gerard Pique and Shakira were invited but chose not to attend.
Barça players Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba did make it. Other notable names from the football world were Florentino Perez, David and Victoria Beckham, Alvaro Morata, Joaquin and Luka Modric.
