What’s the Ellison Scholars Programme?
Ellison Scholars pursue a fully-funded undergraduate degree in any course at Oxford while working on cutting-edge research and tech projects through the Ellison Institute of Technology (EIT). Each summer, Scholars take part in 10-week internships tackling some of the world’s biggest challenges in:
- Health & Medical Science
- Food Security & Sustainable Agriculture
- Clean Energy & Climate Change
- Government Innovation in the Age of AI
Projects are collaborative and hands-on, welcoming students from various backgrounds including:
AI, Data Science, Engineering, Medicine, Law, Physics, Biology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Chemistry, and more.
Who Can Apply?
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Meet Oxford University’s entry requirements for their chosen course
- Hold (or be on track to earn) a recognized secondary/high school qualification
- Meet Oxford’s grade and English language requirements
Note: If you don’t meet these criteria, it’s advised not to apply.
Application Timeline
- May 1 – July 31, 2025: Applications open
- September – October 2025: Semi-finalists chosen and apply to Oxford
- January – February 2026: Finalists selected (after Oxford admissions)
- March – April 2026: Ellison Scholars announced and onboarded
- October 2026: Scholars begin their studies at Oxford
