The Industrial Court Sitted in Ikoyi Lagos has summoned the Staff Union of the Lagos State Polytechnic to end strike action which started on August 1 and continue with their academic activities.
A press statement issued by the Special Adviser on Education, Obafela Bank-Olemoh said the court ruling by the Justice F.I. Kola-Olalere earlier today precedes the hearing and determination of the Unions’ notice and preliminary objection to the notice of the interlocutory injunction by the Lagos State Government.
Mr Obafela said the state took the school to court when it refuses to put an end to it actions due to the interest of the students, at the same time the ministry of education also proffer a lasting solution to this lingering crisis.
The statements reads
“Hon. Justice Kola-Olalere adjourned the hearing of the preliminary objection by the defendants to Wednesday, September 27, 2017, and directed the parties involved to explore amicable resolution of the issues before the adjourned date in line with the provision of section 20 of the NIC Act, 2016”.
As part of the aim of this present administration of Akinwunmi Ambode, the state has augment the monthly subvention for state tertiary institutions and also increase pay salaries on time.
