The current president of the world football body FIFA, Gianni Infantino, congratulates Plateau United Fc of Jos, for emerging the winner of the 2017/2018 Nigerian Professional Football League on Saturday 11, 2017 after defeating last season champions Enugu Rangers 2-0 at the Rwang Pam stadium.

He however send his remarks in letter and addressed to the NFF president Mr Amaju Melvin Pinnick, letter dated September 12, 2017, felicitating with the players, board, technical crew, medical department, Team coach and crew and so on.
He said: “Plateau United are the 2017 champions of Nigeria. It gives me great pleasure to send my warmest congratulations to Plateau United for their first –ever championship title!
Nevertheless, Plateau emerge champions of the league with 66points, 57points home win and 9 drawn matches, and with just a single away win.
We hope to see a better league next season with good officials, organization and technics and many more.
