Nyesom Wike, Governor River State has disclosed plans of some people assassinate him.
The governor made this known during the Thanksgiving service to mark three years of his administration, on Sunday in Port Harcourt, He allege that police reports with him indicates that the assassination would be executed in a crowded area but was later to reported as an “accidental discharge”.
According to Wike, he said this is not the first attempt of some political enemies in which he did not disclose to take his life
The governor said:
“Just this morning, we got an intelligence report that they are going to assassinate themselves in a crowd and then they will say there is an accidental discharge. I laughed, I said the same God that protected us till now, that same God has not abandoned us.
“Whether they want to assassinate themselves or not, as a child of God, nobody can intimidate me because what is in me is greater than them”.
He, however, advised people in the state to focus on good governance, rather than otherwise and overall development of the state.
Present at the event was the former first Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Madam Patience Jonathan.
