The jamb cutoff mark which was 200 for universities and 180 for polytechnic has now been reduced to 120 and 100 which Nigerians have reacted against in recent online trends.
This innovation has been criticized and classified as a blow on the Nigerian Educational system.
However, the institutions are at liberty to raise their cutoff mark to suit their admission standard but the general and accepted by jamb is 120.
People never find this as a relieve but a disgrace to the academic sector of the nation.
See below the reaction of people on twitter:
Cut off mark for JAMB is now 120/400. They lowered the standards for President Buhari. They lowered the standards for Nigerian students.— Dr. Dipo (@OgbeniDipo) August 23, 2017
Jamb cutoff is now 120? Why not let people get into uni without writing jamb then? What’s the point?

The problem with Nigeria is not JAMB cutoff marks, it’s the fact that we have very few & ill equipped universities to serve the masses— FAVOUR ONYEOZIRI (@Rouvafe) August 23, 2017

If you chose UI, Unilag, Uniben, OAU and go on to score 120 in Jamb thinking you will be given admission.
