    The 20th century have seen Media personality hold cogent position in political environment, both within and outside Nigeria. Donald Trump is typical example of Media persons, who is currently the president of the United State Of America.
    for some time now, Nigerian celebrities too have been getting involved in politics .

    Veteran Nigerian actress Hilda Dokubo was at one time the Special Adviser to the  Peter Odili, former Governor of Rivers state . Nkiru Sylvanus was designated the Special Assistant on Lagos State Affairs to Rochas Okorocha, Imo State Governor  in 2011.

    We should not overlook the main man of Nollywood, Richard Mofe Damijo who was at one time the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in Delta State.

    A great deal of celebrities participated in the general elections few years ago. Despite the fact that a significant number of them didn’t win, we have begun seeing celebs holding political offices in the country, either by appointment, or through elections.
    The following is a rundown of 6 celebrities in political offices; 


    1) Mercy Johnson

    The much love Actress, Mercy Johnson got a political call from Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello on 14th of March 2017, to serve as the Senior Special Adviser to the Governor on Entertainment, Arts and Culture. She is the freshest on our list. “I will use my experience over the years to serve”. she said.

    2) Desmond Elliot

    In 2014 Nollywood star and executive Desmond Elliot moved into politics and joined the political party APC. The next year he kept running for a seat in the Lagos State House of Assembly. Desmond Elliot stunned everybody by winning. 

    Months after the fact he was sworn into office at the Lagos State House of Assembly as a member speaking to Surulere 01 Constituency. 

    2) Ini Edo

    In February 2016, whiz actress Ini Edo, 33, was delegated Special Adviser on Tourism to the Akwa Ibom State Governor Udom Gabriel Emmanuel. Talking about her arrangement she said “To be called to serve is a honor. I give God all the radiance. Am appreciative to my express, my Governor, each one of you with your steady supplications and support… God favor u.” 

    3) Femi Adebayo

    Additionally in February 2016 prominent Yoruba actor Femi Adebayo was made the Special Adviser to the Governor of Kwara State, Abdulfatah Ahmed on Arts, Culture and Tourism. “Today I was named as a Special Assistant to the Kwara state senator on Arts, Tourism and Culture. Say thanks to God for a chance to change my state into a chief visitor express that will draw in outside and local travelers” reported Femi Adebayo on Instagram. 

    4) Dayo “D1” Adeneye

    In November 2014 Stakeholder Of Kennis Music and Media Personality Dayo “D1” Adeneye reported that he was running for office. He discharged a blurb and stated “My dear companions. Having surrendered to the desires and demands of my kin in Ogun state I have chosen to challenge in the 2015 elections. Generously keep me in your petitions as I leave on this next period of my life.” 

    Dayo Adeneye lost at the primaries yet after a year he was selected as the Commissioner for Information and Strategy in Ogun state. 

    5) Kate Henshaw

    Veteran actress Kate Henshaw additionally kept running for office. She however lost at the PDP primaries in Calabar state. In December 2015, Kate Henshaw was made Special Adviser, Liaison, Lagos to Cross River state.
