NDLEA Arrests Musician, Uncovers Illicit Drug Laboratory in Lagos
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a music artiste, Godspower George Osahenrumwen, popularly known as Steady Boy, for allegedly attempting to collect a consignment of smuggled illicit drugs sent from the United States to his manager in the Lekki area of Lagos State.
The agency also announced the discovery of a clandestine drug laboratory in the Ajao Estate area of Lagos, where synthetic cannabis, known as Colorado (Colos), was being produced in large quantities.
NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, explaining that Steady Boy’s arrest followed the interception of a large shipment of Loud (a strain of cannabis) hidden inside three cartons of bathtubs. The consignment was seized at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, after arriving from the U.S. aboard a DHL flight on Tuesday.
According to Babafemi, the 20-year-old artiste was apprehended at Bougain Villa, Primewater Gardens 2, Freedom Way, Lekki, when he arrived to collect 140 bags of Loud weighing 77.20kg on behalf of a syndicate that included his manager, Zion Osazee Omigie (alias Zee Money), who is currently on the run.
Following months of intelligence gathering, NDLEA operatives uncovered a drug laboratory in Ajao Estate linked to the production of Colorado. The suspected owner of the lab was arrested, and officers recovered 16.2kg of freshly processed Colos, 1.7kg of ADB-CHMNACA Cannabinol, 4.5kg of Potassium Carbonate, and 91 litres of Dibromobutane from the site.
In a related operation in Mushin, Lagos, NDLEA officers raided the hideout of Afeez Salisu (alias Malu), a 28-year-old dealer, and recovered 16 compressed blocks of Ghana Loud, as well as designer sachets and bottles of Colorado weighing 16.4kg.
Elsewhere in Kaduna State, operatives intercepted 84,710 tramadol capsules on the Abuja–Jos highway on Sunday. The drugs, transported from Onitsha, Anambra State, were bound for Bauchi, where a follow-up operation led to the arrest of Musa Abdulkarim, 27. Two days later, NDLEA operatives arrested Hamza Musa, 47, with 32,946 bottles of Akuskura, a new psychoactive substance, while Saidu Nafiu, 30, was caught with 131.5kg of skunk in Igabi LGA, Kaduna.
In Ogun State, three suspects—Seun Olaniyi (24), Rauf Asogba (28), and Ayinla Adeniyi (50)—were arrested in Abeokuta on November 1 after NDLEA officers tracked their movements from the Benin Republic and seized 1,779kg of skunk from their vehicle.
Other major seizures include:
- 532,600 pills of tramadol and Exol-5 recovered from three suspects in Kwara State;
 - 1,455kg of skunk intercepted in Edo State from two vehicles on the Okhokho–Isi community road;
 - 2,829kg of skunk recovered in Ondo State from two locations linked to a female suspect, Mrs. Ige Olarewaju, and 737kg seized from Samuel Adebayo in Akure;
 - 76.5 litres of skuchies confiscated from Ige Oluwale in Badagry, Lagos; and
 - 30,370 tramadol pills and 177g of methamphetamine intercepted from Musbahu Abdullahi and Saleiman Ahmed in Taraba State.

NDLEA Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Mohamed Buba Marwa, commended officers nationwide for their professionalism and commitment, reaffirming the agency’s resolve to dismantle drug syndicates across Nigeria.
The NDLEA’s intensified operations have led to the arrest of 45,853 suspects and the conviction of 9,263 offenders in the last 30 months, with over 8.5 million kilograms of illicit substances seized nationwide…
