Popular Nigerian comedian Carter Efe’s Twitch account has been temporarily suspended, just days after his headline-making livestream with Afrobeats superstar Davido.

The much-talked-about livestream, held on December 17, 2025, drew massive online attention and propelled Carter Efe to become Africa’s most-followed Twitch streamer, amassing over 405,000 followers.

Announcing the development on Monday, the comedian revealed that Twitch had imposed a four-month suspension on his account for alleged violations of the platform’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. Twitch, however, did not disclose specific details surrounding the alleged breaches.

The suspension comes shortly after Carter Efe overtook other prominent Nigerian content creators, including Shank Comics, and recorded one of the most-watched livestreams on Twitch alongside Davido.

Following the announcement, fans and supporters flooded his social media platforms with messages of support, hailing him as a “joy giver” and urging Twitch to reconsider its decision.

Although online speculation suggests the suspension may be linked to mass reporting over comments or antics during the livestream, claims of additional bans on other platforms have been debunked.

The decision has sparked widespread disappointment among fans, especially as it coincides with the festive season, with many calling for a swift and fair resolution to the issue.
