Lagos Police: Stun Gun Recovered from Pastor Paul Adefarasin
LAGOS — The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the recovery of a stun gun from the premises of House on the Rock, led by renowned preacher Pastor Paul Adefarasin.
According to police sources, the non-lethal weapon was discovered during a routine security sweep following intelligence reports concerning the storage of security gadgets within private religious facilities.
While the stun gun is not classified as a firearm under Nigerian law, authorities say its presence in a non-military or non-policing environment raised questions.
“We recovered a stun gun from Pastor Paul Adefarasin,” said a spokesperson for the Lagos Police Command. “Investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding its possession and whether any legal boundaries were crossed.”
The pastor, widely known for his influential ministry and annual gospel concert The Experience, has not made a public statement regarding the incident. However, a church source suggested the device may have been part of the building’s broader security apparatus for VIP protection and had not been used.
Legal experts note that while stun guns are not outright banned in Nigeria, their use is regulated, and unauthorized possession could lead to scrutiny depending on context and intent.
As of press time, no charges have been filed, and police say the investigation remains open.
