Liverpool Eye Major Summer Moves After Premier League Title Triumph
Fresh off their Premier League title win, Liverpool are preparing for an ambitious summer in the transfer market as they look to build on their success under new manager Arne Slot.
The club has already made a significant statement of intent by submitting a £105 million bid for Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz late last week. While talks are ongoing, the offer signals Liverpool’s readiness to invest heavily to stay at the top.
Wirtz’s Leverkusen teammate Jeremie Frimpong has already completed his move to Anfield, joining the Reds for £29.5 million as the first signing of the summer.
Liverpool are also targeting reinforcements in several key areas. A new striker is high on the list, with the club monitoring the same group of elite forwards being chased by other top sides — including Alexander Isak, Benjamin Sesko, Victor Osimhen, and Hugo Ekitike.
At left-back, Liverpool are eyeing Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez as a long-term successor to Andy Robertson. The club wants to manage Robertson’s workload and gradually transition to the next generation.
While not as urgent, Liverpool are also considering options at centre-back and defensive midfield, with an emphasis on younger profiles to provide depth and long-term solutions.
Further incomings could depend on outgoings. Luis Diaz is attracting interest from several clubs, and Bayern Munich are reportedly keen on signing Cody Gakpo. Meanwhile, Harvey Elliott has been on Brighton’s radar since January, and clubs in Germany have also expressed interest.
With big names linked and several squad areas targeted, Liverpool’s summer is shaping up to be one of major change and heavy investment as they aim to remain dominant in both domestic and European competition.
