Kano Explosion Caused by Unexploded Ordnance, Not IED – Police
The Kano State Police Command has confirmed that the recent explosion in the state was caused by an unexploded ordnance and not an improvised explosive device (IED), as initially speculated.
Police spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, stated that preliminary investigations and expert analysis revealed the blast originated from a remnant military device. He added that the area has since been secured, and further investigations are ongoing to ensure public safety.
Authorities have urged residents to remain calm and report any suspicious objects or activities to security agencies promptly.
