Air India has confirmed the nationalities of those aboard the ill-fated Flight AI 171, which tragically crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad on June 12, 2025:
- 🇮🇳 169 Indian nationals
- 🇬🇧 53 British nationals
- 🇵🇹 7 Portuguese nationals
- 🇨🇦 1 Canadian national
- 12 crew members (nationalities not specified)
- 230 passengers, totaling 242 occupants with crew included

This marked the first fatal crash involving a Boeing 787 Dreamliner—a Boeing 787-8 (Reg: VT-ANB)—which crashed into a building near B.J. Medical College in Ahmedabad. Reports indicate at least 204 bodies recovered, including individuals on board and victims on the ground, with 41 injured.

Authorities are actively investigating the exact cause, and emergency services from India, the UK, Canada, and Portugal showed immediate involvement and support.
Most passengers don’t survive a planecrash. Earlier today, it was reported that everyone on board Air India flight A171 had perished. But just two hours later, a miraculous update emerged.
Out of 242 people on board, one survivor was found.
Seated in 11A, he opened the emergency exit and jumped moments before the plane went down—an act that ultimately saved his life.

One of the luckiest people alive. Wishing him strength, healing, and a full recovery.
