Police Recover Arms and Motorcycle During Stop-and-Search in Nasarawa — Suspect Escapes

The Nasarawa State Police Command recovered an AK-47 rifle, ammunition, and a suspected stolen motorcycle during a stop-and-search operation along the Giza-Kadarko Road on Saturday, June 7, 2025.

According to police spokesperson Ramhan Nansel, the operation was launched following credible intelligence on the movement of arms. Officers from the Giza Division intercepted a suspicious individual riding an unregistered Bajaj motorcycle. However, the suspect fled into a nearby bush when flagged down.

Recovered items include:

  • One AK-47 rifle (Breach No. 0413)
  • Two magazines
  • Several rounds of 7.62x39mm ammunition
  • An unregistered Bajaj motorcycle

Nansel described the seizure as a “significant feat” and noted that investigations are ongoing to apprehend the suspect and uncover the source and purpose of the arms.
